Is President Goodluck Jonathan Retaining His Vice, Sambo? Reactions Trail Tonye Princewill's Allegations As Wike Commissions His Campaign offices And More On Rivers Politics

Prince Tonye Princewill
Earlier in the week the Peoples Democratic Party's governorship aspirant Tonye Princewill said the quarrel between governor Rotimi Amaechi and former Education Minister Nyesom Wike is a plan by both men to distract Rivers state.
Tonye Princewill said both men weren't serious about their quarrel, he said the quarrel is anti-PDP and anti-Jonathan and he believes both men have enough information to bury each other's political career  but have refused to do so.

Today the Grassroot Development Initiative (GDI), an initiative by Nyesom Wike has reacted by saying the governor aspirant's claims are fake and asked Princewill to come out with facts backing up his claims.

Meanwhile, while commissioning his campaign office at Abua/Odua yesterday, Nyesom Wike accused the 16 PDP gubernatorial candidates of ganging up against him, saying only the people can stop him from running for the elections, the governorship aspirant said zoning or no zoning, he is going to run for the governorship elections and win, concluding that nothing will stop his election. The former minister also used the opportunity of the commissioning of his campaign offices to welcome the All Peoples Congress defectors to the People's Democratic Party.

In a like manner, another People's Democratic Party governorship aspirant Paworiso Horsfall has accused the Grassroot Development Initiative (GDI),of hijacking the PDP registers in the state. Horsfall said the GDI is compiling the list of various delegates to favour its principal Wike in the next Gubernatorial primaries in the state.

On the national level, the president, President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has returned his nomination form to PDP but it's still unclear if the president will be retaining his vice president Sambo in the next presidential elections.
